First day of 2007

Yup, as promised...the bride and groom of the wedding. Aiyah she closed her eyes but good thing in the second shot she didn't close, which by the way, was totally unplanned for. Her sister just wanted to capture the both of us together because we have been friends for the longest time. She didn't recognise me initially because it had been so darn long since I last saw her and then after the first shot was taken, after awhile she asked, 'Is this Rahayu?!! She looks so different!' Can I say, 'duh..I grew up what..' but narh, just gave her a smile.

By the way, today start a day to lose the fab and I tell you i've been going back and forth with my weight but it is never in the former weight range..grr..as evident in these pics. And my mum just rubbed it in after cooking nasi lemak for hari raya haji yesterday, in this morning, that my skirt looked tight and my behind looked bigger and that Im becoming fatter again. But I tell myself...words can't kill me. Still, I must admit that it's going to be a lOoooOooong journey ahead. Sighz...............anyway, whatever it is, I am not going to eat according to mood swings anymore because I think it is my downfall because one moment, I looked chubby and in another moment, I looked okay. Yes, my body is capable of telling me that the moment I eat more than my usual, it shows. If I cut down by eating less in the next few days, I feel like a balloon that has just deflated a tad bit. Haiyah..but that's not the focus here. Anyway, I actually deshagged my hair..hehe..looks better now. The last one says it all...if I don't eat like a glutton and that my hair behaves, by right that is how Im supposed to look like. It's the look that is one minute..and the next minute gone..haha..whatever. Anyway, how DID you spend your first day of 2007? :)

shaggy..plus chubby (a day or two before
my gastric attack)

a bit less shaggy..(two days after the gastric attack so I still looked 'weak')

my usual style..it's a bit 'flat' and I don't know why.

Being a Teacher isn't Easy

I work with teachers but I'm not a teacher. I actually work in the admin department and I like my job though sometimes it can be challenging especially when I feel swarmed by it. Or when my boss keeps calling me for work related stuffs especially when she is doing the approval for payment or vetting through. So, the headache. Anyway, I can honestly say most teachers are really nice though some are really driving me up the wall. That or they are just simply aint nice but then, it is also because of their personality. But as teachers, they are really dedicated. I also deal with parents and honestly, they can be demanding and very irritating and they are not scared of the higher authority in school. To them, they are being like that all because they care for their children but they are overbearing as if they don't let their children make mistakes and learn. Plus, whatever their children said, they believe every bit of their story though they are not there to see for themselves an...

A Reminder to the Living

Recently, we lost our former President when he passed away at the age of 92. He was known to have his heart for the people although those who worked closely with him couldn't actually picture him as that for he was a taskmaster when it came to work. He did his own narratives and do the best that he could as he knew where he came from and wanted to make good out of his life.  He showed that the circumstances that we are in can't stop us from going far in life. We should continue to focus on our actions, has strong dedication and when things get difficult, look at the bigger picture and understand why we are here. Ultimately, we should all be working towards the purpose we have in mind which makes things easier to cope. Thank you for helping the Singaporeans especially those who needed help most. You would always be the people's President. On the other spectrum, a young child had also lost his life. A few of my colleagues witnessed the events which unfolded in front of...

Our First Group Meeting After Graduation

It has been a long time coming since the last time we met was on Graduation Day although I did meet up with 3 of them quite recently for a birthday celebration. I somehow never seem to miss out on any of the gatherings including the time when we went to a coffee shop after our stressful Econs exam papers. Still don't know how we survived that miraculously..haha.. Anyway, I've always been a silent supporter to this friendly bunch of people who always make me feel inclusive knowing that I am a lady of few words, haha.  We went to this restaurant called PU3 and although the service staff should really write down orders so that we don't always have to remind them that two of our drinks had not arrived get our orders wrong. I mean it's for their customers' benefit and also their own so that they don' undercharge their customers. Just saying. They serve Nasi Ambeng served in a big dulang or tray that is meant to be eaten by 2, 4 or 6 people which is m...
