Love Story By Me!

okay, I am going to do something extraodinaire....write a love story. No, don't run away!! I am just being in my romantic mood..probably for the rest of the freakin' week so u have to bear with me.
Basically, this is a love declaration thingey about a girl who had to marry this guy, a few years younger than her, but has been her neighbour and former confidante for years....to fulfill her dying father's last wish.
Now as u know...(if u don't know I'm telling u now lah!)...ahem..she of course wasn't happy with his decision but to her father, it was probably the last resort to change her. Anyway the guy was very happy while at the same time surprised as ever since they were children, he had always liked her. But as they grew up and went to high school, she changed a whole lot with her company of friends. Being a few years younger than her, she always felt that he was being like an annoying little brother to her as he had been instructed by her father to keep a lookout for her. However, she dropped out of school when she was almost sixteen and started to dabble in songwriting. She got a deal with a record company and started to write songs for a living.
However for him, he stayed on and even went to one of the best colleges and studied law in uinversity. As he was making progress in his life, she went from bad to worse and she was always out of work as she never treated her work seriously. But this guy held on to his thought that one day she would change for the better and like him back...even though she wasn't exactly ur typical nice gal.
Ever since her mum died, she hasn't been herself and got herself into a lot of trouble. But this guy is a straight up straight A's sort and to him, thinks that onlie him can take over her father's position now that he is dying. Unfortunately, things didn't seem to run as smoothly as she kept on showing her anger towards him and being defiant by always going out with her lover who was some rich boy but also a playboy at heart.
Then one day things took a different turn. She was one day caught in the bed with her lover right in her own house. Her husband, tired after fighting a case and losing it (he's a lawyer..), the last thing he wanted to see is his wife with another man. He confronted her...but she was still mad at him..and then screaming that she can do whatever she likes..and that he is not her father. He thought that if she hates him so much, the last thing she should do is being in bed with someone else. He went out of the house to get away from all the chaos...and still not feeling satisfied over him, she ran out of the house still yelling at him. But a drunk driver knocked her down just as she was crossing the road to the other side infront of her porch. She was lying unconscious and went into a coma for six months.
She would have been dead but God wanted to give her a second chance and she woke up from her coma with her promise to God to make things straight with her life. It was difficult at first as she fell back to her old ways even though she tried so hard to love him as much as he loves her and to put the past behind her.
Then just as she thought she had finally fallen in love with him after seeing him work so hard for the family (they had a six month old baby too) and hearing some sad truths from him regarding his step family (she didn't know he was adopted)...tragedy struck. He lost control of himself after finding out that he has some fatal illness and was angry over everything...and he could not focus on his job and kept losing his cases...Just as she came back with her baby from the park (before this she did not like the baby as she reminded of her forced marriage)...and wanted to say how much she loved him, he lost it. He yelled at her saying that she had just ruined his life. Of course she was all confused as she felt she did not do anything that day to make him so angry.
He said that he was sorry to force her to do things that she didn't want...sorry because he didn't understand her all this while...sorry to be a burden to her..and last of all, sorry that he fell in love with her. She was, at that point of time, upset and confused coz she didn't know what came over him. Then the ultimate happened. He told her to leave. Leave the family for good as he felt that he was doing her a favour by giving her back her freedom. She didn't want to because she said she had changed and that now, she truly loved him and want to start anew with the family they started. Not knowing what to say, he went out of the study room and to his bedroom slamming the door behind.
She was standing alone crying because she felt that she did so much damage not just to herself, but to other people..especially the one who truly loved her. So she made the decision to do what was best....leave for good. She took one long look at her baby and went out of the house.
Meanwhile, the next day, her husband woke up finding her gone. He went into a deep depression as he regretted over what happened the night before. Eventually days became months and she still was not back yet. He tried searching for her but could not find her at all. Meanwhile, she was staying everywhere...renting a room every now and then. His illness got worse and worse and he became heavily reliant on medicine and for the first time, he felt so much loneliness in him that he went to bed crying every night while trying to bear with the pain.
Then one day, this girl wrote a song for some songwriting competition which she hoped to win some money out of it. She went to a local cybercafe to write the song in an email. However, half way though writing it...she started to cry as she felt she was writing a letter to him..She then emailed to him. She then toyed with the idea on whether to send to the organizers after typing in their email add. When she realised everyone was looking at her..she ran out of the cafe without clicking on 'send'. Then the user beside her, was puzzled and looked at the screen to see what made her cry..she started to be emotional too and click 'send' for her as she felt it would make a perfect song.
He was looking thru' his email back in his office after he lost yet another case and saw a new email message. He opened it out of curiosity and was surprised to hear from her. He looked at the email and felt so touched by it. When he went back, he turned on his pc to read the email again. But halfway through, he felt a sharp pain and collapsed on the floor.
Tired of roaming around endlessly, one day she heard a band singing the song she wrote on the radio. It was then she knew she had won the competition but because she did not have internet access, they were not able to reach her. Suddenly, she had this sudden urge to go run back home and tell him the good piece of news.
But when she reached home, the house was almost empty and she went next door to ask her neighbour of their whereabouts.. She tried to call him too but the line was not available. It was then she received the most shocking piece of news. He had passed away. She was hysterical because all this while, she didn't know he had been suffering an illness from young that got worse and worse until it was finally fatal. She asked about her baby daughter and said that she was staying with her grandma now. The neighbour was kind enough to drive her to her mother in law's house...living on the street she used to grow up in..and where she and her late husband used to play when they were young.
It brought back fresh memories from the past and she said that everything that happened was her fault. If onlie she had changed from the very beginning. But her mother in law said that everything happened for a reason..even if it meant losing a loved one. It was all pre-destined. They then went to his grave so that she could pay her last respect and say how sorry she was.
When she reached there and saw his grave, she started to cry uncontrollably. She was unaware that the soul of her late husband was watching her from afar, dressed up in all black with pair of wings hidden underneath his black coat and with a big smile on his face seeing that he had completed his mission from God...
It was time to go. Her mother in law got into her car first and she took one long look at the gravc with the baby in her hands. Just as she was about to cross the road, a car came speeding at them both and the story ended there. She had kept her promise to straighten her life and went back to be with Him.
Anyway, if u're curious as to what she wrote in the email...this is not original lah but I tot that this song perfectly described the love story in which she felt she wasn't a perfect person....she made mistakes....she tot she lost it all after her mother and then later her father died. There was no reason to keep on living as she felt no one understands how she feels. Unaware, she had found her true love...which later became the reason she changed for the better. At the same time, she felt she was sorry for whatever bad things she had done to him...as she had never been the perfect one for him..
Okay! So u'd probably guess the song already. It's the overplayed The Reason song by Hoobastank. But no...I didn't write the story based on the song. The story came about before that and it was by sheer concidence that the song seemed perfect for it. Guess me and Doug Robb are just meant to be together...alas..I like older guys.
