For Blue Skies

A very touching song...

Basically a song to a loved one who lost the battle to drugs who died a lonely death that he wished he could have prevented. He asked how was things on the other side assuming that she is now an angel watching over him and how much he missed her.

But the sweetest thing about this song is that it didn't discourage him to stop living. Infact, he continued living as a promise to her that he will look out for himself which he had failed to do so for her even though he was right there beside her when she died. Even though he did not know if his loved one had committed suicide through drug overdose or had died accidentally, one thing for sure was that this person was willing to forgive her for what she had done. He moved on knowing he can see his future clearly ahead even though he still kept fond memories of her close to his heart. She might want to have that same kind of future but whose life was sadly cut short.

This song kinda reminded me of the movie I watched yesterday, The Freedom Writers where most students in this class had lost a friend or more through drugs, gangfights and drive by shootings. Their inspiring teacher taught them that death is not a quick solution to end it all and how they want themselves to be remembered by because after all they will be forgotten once they have been buried underground and left to rot if they dont leave behind any legacy that will inspire the future generation. What awaits them instead if they are to be strong and see themselves as useful people is a better future as long as they are willing to work hard and to prove to their families that their life is worth living. It means that they are not afraid to face whatever obstacles lay infront of them. Why? Because they are able to silence those voices that says they cant.

For Blue Skies (OST One Tree Hill)

It’s been a long year
Since we last spoke
How’s your halo?
Just between you and I
You and me and the satellites
I never believed you
I only wanted to
Before all of this
What did I miss?
Do you ever get homesick?
I can’t get used to it
I can’t get used to it
I’ll never get used to it
I’ll never get used to it

I’m under that night
I’m under those same stars
We’re in a red car
You asleep at my side
Going in and out of the headlights
Could I have saved you?
Would that’ve betrayed you?
I wanna burn this film
You alone with those pills
What you couldn’t do I will
I forgive you
I’ll forgive you
I’ll forgive you
I forgive you

For blue, blue skies
For blue, blue skies
For blue, blue skiesFor blue, blue skies
I’ll forgive you

Being a Teacher isn't Easy

I work with teachers but I'm not a teacher. I actually work in the admin department and I like my job though sometimes it can be challenging especially when I feel swarmed by it. Or when my boss keeps calling me for work related stuffs especially when she is doing the approval for payment or vetting through. So, the headache. Anyway, I can honestly say most teachers are really nice though some are really driving me up the wall. That or they are just simply aint nice but then, it is also because of their personality. But as teachers, they are really dedicated. I also deal with parents and honestly, they can be demanding and very irritating and they are not scared of the higher authority in school. To them, they are being like that all because they care for their children but they are overbearing as if they don't let their children make mistakes and learn. Plus, whatever their children said, they believe every bit of their story though they are not there to see for themselves an...

A Reminder to the Living

Recently, we lost our former President when he passed away at the age of 92. He was known to have his heart for the people although those who worked closely with him couldn't actually picture him as that for he was a taskmaster when it came to work. He did his own narratives and do the best that he could as he knew where he came from and wanted to make good out of his life.  He showed that the circumstances that we are in can't stop us from going far in life. We should continue to focus on our actions, has strong dedication and when things get difficult, look at the bigger picture and understand why we are here. Ultimately, we should all be working towards the purpose we have in mind which makes things easier to cope. Thank you for helping the Singaporeans especially those who needed help most. You would always be the people's President. On the other spectrum, a young child had also lost his life. A few of my colleagues witnessed the events which unfolded in front of...

Our First Group Meeting After Graduation

It has been a long time coming since the last time we met was on Graduation Day although I did meet up with 3 of them quite recently for a birthday celebration. I somehow never seem to miss out on any of the gatherings including the time when we went to a coffee shop after our stressful Econs exam papers. Still don't know how we survived that miraculously..haha.. Anyway, I've always been a silent supporter to this friendly bunch of people who always make me feel inclusive knowing that I am a lady of few words, haha.  We went to this restaurant called PU3 and although the service staff should really write down orders so that we don't always have to remind them that two of our drinks had not arrived get our orders wrong. I mean it's for their customers' benefit and also their own so that they don' undercharge their customers. Just saying. They serve Nasi Ambeng served in a big dulang or tray that is meant to be eaten by 2, 4 or 6 people which is m...
