DIY

Yesterday, me and a few more individuals had to go back office instead of doing outfield work because we had to finish up and hand in the appraisal. That is like an annual report that every staff has to do that tells the management what you have been up to the whole year and whether you're deserving of the quarterly bonus. Okay the whole point is just to get that bloody bonus in March.

Before the appraisal is handed in for the management above to look at and grade you accordingly, you will be appraised by your own supervisor because he or she is the one who has been looking at your conduct to see if you're deserving of a certain grade or not.

We were all busy doing the appraisal yesterday and completing it because nobody has it completely 100% done yet. There are new information to be added, things to calculate, things to print and reprint and reprint (I cursed the printer for being few computers away coz it made me walk a lot of times). Everyone was fixated at their own pc.

But what got me frustrated in the end was not the appraisal or the fact that I had to walk up and down from the pc to the printer. It was my colleagues.

*update*

I hate wireless networking. I typed this whole entry on my laptop using the wireless network . I thought my work was saved every now and then since blogger is supposed to have this autosaving draft thing for clumsy people like me even if my wireless network is not 'on' all the time. Dunno what I accidentally pressed (one of those keyboard shortcuts gone wrong moment) and then half of my entry below the few paragraphs on top of 'update' is gone! But I wrote these paragraphs like more than half an hour ago so it should have been more paragraphs. Instead, I ended up with the original draft.

So right nw, I dont know if I should blame my unsteady wireless networking or blame this autosave thing that perhaps went on a sleeper mode when I was not looking. Hrmph....

But maybe coz I had been blogging for quite awhile just now so uhm.....it was like telling me 'enough is enough..I cant take it anymore' Still, I wasted my time writing quite a lot too!
Hrmph......

On top of that, as a final note before that wrongly pressed keyboard shortcut, I was writing about some impending news about my work, that I was telling about although just a line or two back then towards the end of August. It is going to be finalised but even after that so called breaking news in a few days time, it will still be hanging in midair, for the rest of us, and the uncertainty will continue thereafter.

I'll update on that soon.

Birthday Gathering & House Hunting

Last week, I celebrated a friend of mine's belated birthday together with another friend at her condo. Sadly, this would be the last time we would hold the celebration at her place because she has finally managed to sell off her condo unit after one year of looking for a buyer. Mostly we used the swimming pool facilities although the two of us didn't swim at all but just chill under the shade. We brought home cooked food and I really appreciated my friend for doing this for us, thinking about how the young son of a friend of us would love the swimming pool for kids. She is so selfless and kind to her friends and I'm truly blessed to have her in my life.  While one was selling off the house, the other friend was on the verge of getting a dream house for herself and her young son. In life, we have many priorities and things to look forward to. Each of our dreams and aspirations are different from one another, like for me, getting a house is not a priority at the moment.  ...

A Reminder to the Living

Recently, we lost our former President when he passed away at the age of 92. He was known to have his heart for the people although those who worked closely with him couldn't actually picture him as that for he was a taskmaster when it came to work. He did his own narratives and do the best that he could as he knew where he came from and wanted to make good out of his life.  He showed that the circumstances that we are in can't stop us from going far in life. We should continue to focus on our actions, has strong dedication and when things get difficult, look at the bigger picture and understand why we are here. Ultimately, we should all be working towards the purpose we have in mind which makes things easier to cope. Thank you for helping the Singaporeans especially those who needed help most. You would always be the people's President. On the other spectrum, a young child had also lost his life. A few of my colleagues witnessed the events which unfolded in front of...
