When I read some posts on facebook, I can't help but think..oh why oh why..are some people delusional, haha. They keep fawning over the said person and yet, when people talk about it, they get angry. Of course it's true you have the right to post what you want on your facebook and people also have a right to talk about it especially when you write in 'mysterious' manners that kept people guessing though I suppose they know already who or what is it about as at times, it's just so freaking obvious.
Oh well. I guess when you are having a massive crush on someone, you get ratherdelusional oblivious to what people may think or say especially when they have access to your facebook profile page.
Okay, enough about that. I have an incredible task ahead actually and that is filing my brother's notes, practice papers, test papers, exam papers etc into one or two big ring binder files. I thought of bringing back one of those files from office but I don't think it's enough. I could take two but I feel guilty coz it's meant for work so to be less guilty, I will buy one too..haha.
Speaking of buying, this month I spent quite a bit on his ten year series. I feel like one of those kiasu parents but I need to give him a good headstart :S like at least, know what kind of questions will be asked in the O level papers. The only additional assessment books not related to the ten year series, which are actually the popular phrase on questions taken from O level papers from the span of ten years, are two rather jumbo sized assessment books. My Mathematics problem solving skills are very rusty so I need the help of lotsa worked examples to get me through. Then I don't believe in buying those puny assessment books that scream headlines on the cover page but when I flip the pages, the questions are like so simplistic and so few like what the hey, I'm not gonna pay that much just for these few freaking 'not helping' questions!
But the best is also to look through past papers set by the teachers in school as they may have already gone through it in class and just do a revision on them. Plus, it's free. Don't underestimate the hard work of these teachers. While at this point of time, it is also best to get a good tuition teacher, I'm not well off. So I've got no choice but to get my acts together, and er..get the notes and worksheets together, and help my brother score well for his O level.
He has started revising now on his own though I still lecture him..haha...but you know, it's not as easy as teaching him the last time coz with the internet and his typical teenage emo, they are like my strong competitors to get his attention..hrmph.
Now I have to think of myself as a teacher and study the notes as well so that at least I know what the heck am I teaching him. But it's a good thing also I work in the office so I have full access to the photocopier machines and printers. Reprinting his past worksheets will be a cinch and also printing out self typed notes based on his textbooks.
While I've been slacking, and yes not just him too, I shall also put in efforts as a big sister, to see him do well in his studies for his future. He will be taking the national exam papers and he has so many competitors for all the available good course in poly. Plus, you can't really go far in life without having strong education and even though we are poor, I want to make sure that poverty is not a concern when it comes to education just because we can't afford the tuition fees and expensive assessment books (okay except for those two Maths books).
His ten month preparation shall begin now. Meanwhile, I've got stuffs to mark too :S
