Make Over with Besties

You can never lead a life without in a company of good friends who are there for you in times of need and in times of happiness. A friend shouldn't be jealous of your achievements and instead, celebrate them with you.

I'm not some social butterfly who add people on facebook for the sake of adding them and then COMPLETELY ignoring them when I see them out in public despite knowing each other at one point of our lives. I dunno. To me, that is so ridiculous. The kind of impression they give me? They are just interested in showcasing their lives to you but they don't bother to have some kind of interaction with you coz they merely see you as a statistic in their facebook friend count.

Sadly, many people are like that. I've said it before that I'm not one of those who go around adding people on facebook. Infact, I'm rather particular about it. But whatever. While I can be particular, it's not something that I can be so strict about, though I can do without a good number of people on my current friend list. Judging from their status update or posts, many of them are just craving for unnecessary online attention.

Anyway, my whole point here is not to diss people. But in life, you have to learn to seek out good friends who can give you a quality friendship. I always believe that when you are nice to people, they will be nice back to you. You cannot put on airs and throw your weight around just because you don't like the person and are nasty to them, in return. It won't benefit you. Instead, it will backfire on you.

Let us all celebrate the joy of true friendship. And how do you go about doing them? By spending more time with the people who add value to your life by  being the true friend that they are.

Recently, my friends and I went for a surprise makeover cum photoshoot and though I was crazily shy and nervous, like I always do, they always make things better. The photos below are taken by a photog friend of a friend and I believe she did a good job.

Birthday Gathering & House Hunting

Last week, I celebrated a friend of mine's belated birthday together with another friend at her condo. Sadly, this would be the last time we would hold the celebration at her place because she has finally managed to sell off her condo unit after one year of looking for a buyer. Mostly we used the swimming pool facilities although the two of us didn't swim at all but just chill under the shade. We brought home cooked food and I really appreciated my friend for doing this for us, thinking about how the young son of a friend of us would love the swimming pool for kids. She is so selfless and kind to her friends and I'm truly blessed to have her in my life.  While one was selling off the house, the other friend was on the verge of getting a dream house for herself and her young son. In life, we have many priorities and things to look forward to. Each of our dreams and aspirations are different from one another, like for me, getting a house is not a priority at the moment.  ...

A Reminder to the Living

Recently, we lost our former President when he passed away at the age of 92. He was known to have his heart for the people although those who worked closely with him couldn't actually picture him as that for he was a taskmaster when it came to work. He did his own narratives and do the best that he could as he knew where he came from and wanted to make good out of his life.  He showed that the circumstances that we are in can't stop us from going far in life. We should continue to focus on our actions, has strong dedication and when things get difficult, look at the bigger picture and understand why we are here. Ultimately, we should all be working towards the purpose we have in mind which makes things easier to cope. Thank you for helping the Singaporeans especially those who needed help most. You would always be the people's President. On the other spectrum, a young child had also lost his life. A few of my colleagues witnessed the events which unfolded in front of...
