Life Changing Trip

I watched this indie film (well..halfway now actually) and now I know why there was so much hype about it. So what if it is not mainstream but the storyline is good, the characters are funny yet at the same time, are able to invoke emotions (e.g. tears) in you when the sensitive bits hit you in the face. The script was well written and clever...makes you laugh, think, and cry (I know I said it before but seriously, when it was funny, it was funny...when it was sad..it was seriously sad).

I wished there were more indie movies like this but not everyone can make good movies. You can have the vision but if it is poorly executed, there is no way you can go far with it if the audience ain't buying your 'vision'.

Anyway, this movie was about a road trip which was actually much later in the movie but basically it was also a trip, or rather journey, through the hippies and revolutionary era where people back then were strongly divided between the freedom fighters and the narrow minded republicans.

But among them were two friends, who met during the era with two extremely opposite views which actually got in the way between them but they managed to get out of it after several misunderstandings. However, things took a disastrous turn and they went different ways only to be reunited when one of them got sabotaged and realized who were the ones who really cared for him like his parents and his estranged friend whom he later reconciled and revealed that he was dying. He eventually died but he died in peace during the road trip..which was of course, riddled with the usual mishaps because things do happen when you're alone travelling through the dusty roads.

The moral of the story was to always be true to yourself and to speak from your heart and not from what you think should be right because other people think so.

Despite the death of his friend, at least the lead character's life has changed tremendously and he wrote a book but this time, he meant what he said from his heart and not because he wrote what he felt other people in general would want to read about.

Okay...Im off to finish watching the movie...which unfortunately, is not playing very well because youtube decides to play 'crawl like a snail' game with me...sighz.

Birthday Gathering & House Hunting

Last week, I celebrated a friend of mine's belated birthday together with another friend at her condo. Sadly, this would be the last time we would hold the celebration at her place because she has finally managed to sell off her condo unit after one year of looking for a buyer. Mostly we used the swimming pool facilities although the two of us didn't swim at all but just chill under the shade. We brought home cooked food and I really appreciated my friend for doing this for us, thinking about how the young son of a friend of us would love the swimming pool for kids. She is so selfless and kind to her friends and I'm truly blessed to have her in my life.  While one was selling off the house, the other friend was on the verge of getting a dream house for herself and her young son. In life, we have many priorities and things to look forward to. Each of our dreams and aspirations are different from one another, like for me, getting a house is not a priority at the moment.  ...

A Reminder to the Living

Recently, we lost our former President when he passed away at the age of 92. He was known to have his heart for the people although those who worked closely with him couldn't actually picture him as that for he was a taskmaster when it came to work. He did his own narratives and do the best that he could as he knew where he came from and wanted to make good out of his life.  He showed that the circumstances that we are in can't stop us from going far in life. We should continue to focus on our actions, has strong dedication and when things get difficult, look at the bigger picture and understand why we are here. Ultimately, we should all be working towards the purpose we have in mind which makes things easier to cope. Thank you for helping the Singaporeans especially those who needed help most. You would always be the people's President. On the other spectrum, a young child had also lost his life. A few of my colleagues witnessed the events which unfolded in front of...
