Sick to the Bone

I am back to work after two days on sick leaves and though I did nothing but just rot laze around at home, Im still happy that I dont have to answer calls and attend to pesky students. Okay fine, I think most calls are just innocent ones and some students are well..just as innocent and pretty cute sometimes, but I can't help but think that others are just so plainly weird. It gives new meaning to my brand of weirdness. But I cant complain too much coz this job pays off my bills and help to occupy my time coz I can only do so much rotting..ha!

Anyway I was suffering from a mild case of flu but oh my gosh, this flu though mild, wasn't doing much justice to my physical well being coz I felt rather weak. I usually wouldn't even flinch when I make myself walk the 10 to 15 minutes of journey to the bus stop though I can just jolly well take the train. But last Tuesday, even the thought of having to walk is enough to deplete whatever strength I had. It was rather torturous later too when I did a fair bit of grocery shopping coz my family didn't care if I was sick or not as long as I buy the groceries. Walking was painfully slow and I had to take short breaks in between like seriously just standing. Around that time too, my friend was messaging me so at least it kept me occupied when I had to stand for a short while for quick breaks.

My colleagues in the office are also not feeling well including my boss and it showed coz she is usually very hyper. I just don't know how she gets her energizer bunny from. She's just one of those who moves fast fast fast. Though I work under her, she doesn't always deal with me directly if not I would die coz Im pretty much the opposite of her. While bosses would advocate their workers to have a healthy learning curve, mine's pretty.....horizontal. I've mentioned before the whole purpose of me working is to pay the bills and occupy my time. While Im at that, try not to screw up either coz a downward sloping learning curve would be worse off than a horizontal one..heh.

For those of you who suspect yourself to be veering towards the flu season, take good care of yourself. Wash your hands frequently, drink more water and eat less junk food. If you are a sweet junkie like me, then....chocolates are optional.

Being a Teacher isn't Easy

I work with teachers but I'm not a teacher. I actually work in the admin department and I like my job though sometimes it can be challenging especially when I feel swarmed by it. Or when my boss keeps calling me for work related stuffs especially when she is doing the approval for payment or vetting through. So, the headache. Anyway, I can honestly say most teachers are really nice though some are really driving me up the wall. That or they are just simply aint nice but then, it is also because of their personality. But as teachers, they are really dedicated. I also deal with parents and honestly, they can be demanding and very irritating and they are not scared of the higher authority in school. To them, they are being like that all because they care for their children but they are overbearing as if they don't let their children make mistakes and learn. Plus, whatever their children said, they believe every bit of their story though they are not there to see for themselves an...

A Reminder to the Living

Recently, we lost our former President when he passed away at the age of 92. He was known to have his heart for the people although those who worked closely with him couldn't actually picture him as that for he was a taskmaster when it came to work. He did his own narratives and do the best that he could as he knew where he came from and wanted to make good out of his life.  He showed that the circumstances that we are in can't stop us from going far in life. We should continue to focus on our actions, has strong dedication and when things get difficult, look at the bigger picture and understand why we are here. Ultimately, we should all be working towards the purpose we have in mind which makes things easier to cope. Thank you for helping the Singaporeans especially those who needed help most. You would always be the people's President. On the other spectrum, a young child had also lost his life. A few of my colleagues witnessed the events which unfolded in front of...

Our First Group Meeting After Graduation

It has been a long time coming since the last time we met was on Graduation Day although I did meet up with 3 of them quite recently for a birthday celebration. I somehow never seem to miss out on any of the gatherings including the time when we went to a coffee shop after our stressful Econs exam papers. Still don't know how we survived that miraculously..haha.. Anyway, I've always been a silent supporter to this friendly bunch of people who always make me feel inclusive knowing that I am a lady of few words, haha.  We went to this restaurant called PU3 and although the service staff should really write down orders so that we don't always have to remind them that two of our drinks had not arrived get our orders wrong. I mean it's for their customers' benefit and also their own so that they don' undercharge their customers. Just saying. They serve Nasi Ambeng served in a big dulang or tray that is meant to be eaten by 2, 4 or 6 people which is m...
