Gay Teachers are Still humans Like Us..

being ostracized is one thing...and being lambasted in the press and the place where we are trying to make our livelihood is another. sometimes, people forget that not all of us are born perfectly normal with that perfect little nose or that perfect pair of eyes. then just because that certain someone 'differs' from us either from physical or psychological attributes, there are those who go overboard with their ruthless reactions. i don't think i want to readily proclaim that singaporeans have a more sensitive heart along with a fatter pocket and with an overflowing portfolio of educational certificates. it's still a sad fact that with maturity, greater intelligence and wit, they can still be backwards when it comes to emotional intelligence. Sure, you can go ahead with proclaiming your higher intelligence existence via ur high IQ test results to people. but if ur behaviour still lacks of even a hint of intelligence..well, good luck in ur proclamations!

narh, i'm not being emotional. but i am sometimes appalled by how people try to answer for their actions, but in this case, over-reactions, they answer it with a lot of wit that comes with 'value judgments' and backed up with other people's similar reactions too. then, you think like 'wah..good answer'...for a load of bull, that is. i'm like shocked when i read the papers today, how a school spent so much money just to renovate the school as well as re-order preschool things that have been possibly used or touched by the gay teacher who used to teach there. First of all, it is not ur average typical childcare in cramped confinements and with the educational supplies that u can buy from ur average typical bookshop. it is a two-storey house that has supplies bought from UK. And judging from experience with such preschools and getting to know how much they actualie charge the fees, and also the neighbourhood consisting of well-to-do families, u would think that they know the true facts of how HIV virus is being spread. That it can onlie spread through body fluids, sharing of needles and from a mother to an unborn child during labour. And it DOES NOT spread through furniture. They defended themselves by stating that they onlie have concern for their children. Therefore their demands are called for.

Whatever. It's just like telling their children that it is not okay to mix with people 'different' from them because they are normal people and so should stay that way. that gay teacher onlie have good intentions for their children and that is to give a proper pre-school eucation for their children. and to the fact that he is male and this pre-school teaching is dominantly a female industry, it must have taken him a lot of guts. And also to admit that he is gay is yet another admirable feat coz even I can't admit to my own little deeds like telling my mum that my cashbox is empty..just so that she wont sneak a peek. He also never tried to do any lewd acts towards their children and he is merely trying to earn a living. Being gay is not what he asked for and trying to deny for years and then embracing it later after a lot of personal struggle, is truly admirable. come on, even heterosexuals..the one supposedly with the correct sexual orientation in order, catch the horrible disease and even die from it. let alone gay people?!

im not trying to say that we shall all hold gay parties and encourage gay people to show their affections towards the same gender in public. even i think that public affections towards people of a different sex should be kept at a minimum. i'm just trying to touch on a broad perspective like when it is 'okay' for some things and not 'okay' for others. in this case, wasting a lot of money that can be channeled instead towards a better pre-school education for the children and the pay of the teachers who also need to support their families. just because people are 'kiasu' or want things done for the sake of 'just in case' situations.

and i'm also appalled by how contradicting the principal can be like how she, in the closing paragraph, advocates that even gay teachers can be very good teachers, but then do not uphold to what she said. Instead, she gave in to the whimsical demands of the parents. like, what's done cannot be undone m'am. human activists are still going to say you're stereotyping the gays and deciding to fork out such a large sum of money will not cover up the fact that you still mind hiring gay teachers contrary to what you said that u may hire them in the future. so stop with all ur pretense. sometimes actions speak louder than words.

everytime u read the forums, people always complain..sometimes for the benefit of the public...but sometimes for their own selfish needs. also, how can we forever influence our children's minds that things are supposed to be this way and not that way..and if they are the latter, then we should shun them. stop trying to 'fish out' things deemed inappropriate for the children when we still have miles to go as far as our behaviour is concerned towards other people that are 'different' from us. oh, and stop trying to cover up....it will one day creep back at us on how we mistreat others through stereotyping.

One Step at A Time

Hello there It has been a while, right? I used to treat this blog as a place for me to rant, talk about nonsensical things and interests that, when I think back about it, were pretty cringeworthy. But it was part of the process of me growing up and navigating through my life which is full of ups and downs, just like the tidal waves. I still need a form of outlet to write out my thoughts and I have been journaling for the last few years. At first, I was still writing nonsense, or simply writing about how my day went, but I try to make it a more conscious journalling where I will write about things that I can take lessons from or to reflect on. So how has life been for me? Well, I no longer am running an online shop where I used to do customised cards and then just specializing in box cards. I do want to have an online business, preferably one I don't have to travel to meet people.  If you read my last post about being zen, I think I have 'tripled' the amount of zen inside of...

Listen to Me

It kinda irks me when I am trying to express an opinion or sharing a piece of knowledge but it's met with strong objection or Im being cut half way before I even finished. I mean...come on...does it hurt to actually listen first, doesnt matter if u agree or not? Yes I know everyone is entitled to their own opinions but it's frustrating because I feel like a sore loser. That sort of conversation is actually begging to be turned into some huge argument if I am equally annoying and equally strong headed as well. But I dont want to do that especially if they are my friends. Then again, I am subjected to being called a wimp or somebody who cant stand up strong against what she believes in or her own opinions. That will sorta give the person a sense of pride for getting a landslide victory. At first I used to think that hey, maybe the person has a point and I am wrong. But come to think of it, that's bull! It's one thing not to argue and another thing to let ur own opinions b...

Ray of Light

The act of falling in love. Very subjective and it also depends on the object you desire. Well, if it is the 'whoa mama!' sort of hunk or good looker, then yours truly has fallen in love many times over and over again. But a guy who has stolen my heart for good..well...that has yet to happen. But let's not talk about my non existent love life. Let's just ponder over the act of falling in love. From what I have observed through several tv shows or even movies, I gather that well..not everyone is so lucky to have fallen in love at first sight. It takes time, and maybe it will even take boyfriend after boyfriend or girlfriend after girlfriend before reality smacks your face and you end up with your very first boyfriend (gasp!). What a truly merry go round. Hey, it happens. Because we make mistakes and we are too blind to notice how someone can truly bring you happiness by their sheer volumes of care and concern for you. In the midst of crisis, a ray of light shines through...
