i Light Singapore 2019

The i Light Singapore 2019 is an annual event not to be missed and tonight will be the last one so please spare some time tonight to at least see some of the interesting outdoor exhibits. The sustainable light art festival has various installations and programmes lined up for both the local and foreign visitors. Besides being instagram-my, many are also interactive or inclusive of audience participation. There were some that were boxed up to lure people in especially knowing there are people who generally love to queue but not knowing what's ahead, haha..and there was one that was purposely designed as a polaroid frame with a walk in platform for people to take couple or group pics. But upon close up, the whole frame was actually made up of clips that are often used to hang pics. Interesting, right? Sustainable and yet looks complicated and even manages to draw in the audience.

One of the installations outside the Marina Bay area had the participants draw on the wall with lighted brush tool for wall painting. As they draw the strokes, they will light up and usually kids and couples were the eager ones. The couple one obviously for photo taking and the kids found it as a fun play thing. We were not interested to try but made some funny comments on the 'drawings' made, haha..but one of them drew something like a bubble tea? With two straw like thing come out from each side, implicating that perhaps, they share the same love for bubble tea. Oh yes, about the comment we made, coz one of the groups drew the initials of DLYM so we were figuring out what they meant and we had fun making it up such as Don't Love You Much..hahaha..

The highlights for me were the one on the water river, with water spouting to form an imagery of a boat, and the two soccer players, one goalie and one striker, similar to that of a green screen where actors wear special costumes marked with various lighted points on their bodies to mimic their movements. I also liked the helix bridge where it was specially installed with long light bulbs with lights flowing seamlessly like in those special FX movie where you feel as though you're going through some special tunnel.

Here are the pics for that night for some of the installations. Enjoy!

Being a Teacher isn't Easy

I work with teachers but I'm not a teacher. I actually work in the admin department and I like my job though sometimes it can be challenging especially when I feel swarmed by it. Or when my boss keeps calling me for work related stuffs especially when she is doing the approval for payment or vetting through. So, the headache. Anyway, I can honestly say most teachers are really nice though some are really driving me up the wall. That or they are just simply aint nice but then, it is also because of their personality. But as teachers, they are really dedicated. I also deal with parents and honestly, they can be demanding and very irritating and they are not scared of the higher authority in school. To them, they are being like that all because they care for their children but they are overbearing as if they don't let their children make mistakes and learn. Plus, whatever their children said, they believe every bit of their story though they are not there to see for themselves an...

A Reminder to the Living

Recently, we lost our former President when he passed away at the age of 92. He was known to have his heart for the people although those who worked closely with him couldn't actually picture him as that for he was a taskmaster when it came to work. He did his own narratives and do the best that he could as he knew where he came from and wanted to make good out of his life.  He showed that the circumstances that we are in can't stop us from going far in life. We should continue to focus on our actions, has strong dedication and when things get difficult, look at the bigger picture and understand why we are here. Ultimately, we should all be working towards the purpose we have in mind which makes things easier to cope. Thank you for helping the Singaporeans especially those who needed help most. You would always be the people's President. On the other spectrum, a young child had also lost his life. A few of my colleagues witnessed the events which unfolded in front of...

Our First Group Meeting After Graduation

It has been a long time coming since the last time we met was on Graduation Day although I did meet up with 3 of them quite recently for a birthday celebration. I somehow never seem to miss out on any of the gatherings including the time when we went to a coffee shop after our stressful Econs exam papers. Still don't know how we survived that miraculously..haha.. Anyway, I've always been a silent supporter to this friendly bunch of people who always make me feel inclusive knowing that I am a lady of few words, haha.  We went to this restaurant called PU3 and although the service staff should really write down orders so that we don't always have to remind them that two of our drinks had not arrived get our orders wrong. I mean it's for their customers' benefit and also their own so that they don' undercharge their customers. Just saying. They serve Nasi Ambeng served in a big dulang or tray that is meant to be eaten by 2, 4 or 6 people which is m...
