Downtown Line 3 Open House 2017

So we've been to all the open houses for the MRT lines. It will join the rest of the train networks such as the current Downtown Line 1 & 2, Circle Line, North South Line and East West Line. So last Sunday on the 15th October 2017 was the Downtown Line 3 Open House. We went after 1pm because we were late like that, nothing new...lol..but it was a good thing too because we got a notification that there was a track fault. It wasn't part of the stations in the open house, but still they had to stop the free train service for awhile as a precautionary measure. However, it was quite quickly rectified and then the train services resumed as usual. We started at MacPherson as it was the nearest for us. It was also a pretty hot day so we had to walk quickly to the station, lol. So we took the train from MacPherson Station to Mattar Station and along the way, we stopped at several stations where we wanted to see the celebrities. They were doing some hosting of games for the commute...

My Book Review on When Breath Becomes Air

I am almost complete with reading a book called When Breath Becomes Air, which was published posthumously. The author has passed away and it hit home to me because he died at the age where I had just turned last month. However, all this time he was doing really well in life in the medical field as a neurosurgeon and he was going to complete his residency to become a professor when illness struck him. From the symptoms which included excruciating back pain, it was clear to him that there was a high possibility that he was having cancer. But did not want to conclude it yet as he would need to go for further check ups, MRI scans and so on.  The thing that struck him the most how his life was parallel to that of his patients and that now the role is reversed now. While every doctor aims to save people's lives, he also acknowledged that there was so much they can do up to a point where death would be easier for the patients. But he also became more aware that a doctor-patient r...

I Tried a New Fitness Class...Piloxing!

I ended my Zumba class the week before on Thursday. Actually I wasn't feeling so well, think I was starting to develop flu and cough, perhaps a little fever. So I was thinking so many times whether I should go. But it was the very last class for the month and they won't have this class the next month so I thought I felt a little better (panadol helped a little too...lol) when I stepped out of office. So I went to the nearest public toilet at the MRT station and changed. The venue was one station away and I thought to myself I shouldn't be so hard on myself.  However I ended up enjoying the classes. Sure there were sporadic coughing here and there and I felt none the worse when I reached home. Yet I followed through the class and even had a group picture taken. You can view the instructor's Facebook @zumbawithash I'm in blue, centre besides the lady in the blue singlet. Anyway, I just noticed many of us were in blue, lol. Look at all the tired but happy fa...

The Sentosa Sandsation Exhibition 2017

A few weeks ago, we visited Sentosa after quite awhile and mind you this was pretty late like we reached around 8.10pm. We actually took an SBS bus starting from outside Tiong Bahru MRT. It was a new service introduced by SBS Transit and if you're in Orchard Road area and feel like the night is still young, provided it's not very late, you can just board this bus and be in a journey right to Sentosa. So the bus went around the Tiong Bahru estate which wasn't that long and actually Tiong Bahru is actually quite near Harbourfront. So once it had passed through the housing estates, it then embarked on a journey through the Sentosa gate and then made its way to the basement of the Resorts World Sentosa. This was where the journey felt pretty long. It consisted of complicated and narrow small roads which the poor driver had to navigate through as certain roads were demarcated for certain vehicle uses. We just had to trust with the driver's expertise to not make the wron...
