Dream a Dream

I have begun using my own savings coz I have used up my salary :S I so dread this day but it's such a monthly affair and Im just afraid my savings are going to be depleted soon. Anyway, I just have to be strong and face the challenge head on. No one says life is easy. Things will get better as long as I am confident it will. Meanwhile, I will do what I can to at least maintain my savings so that I will still be able to use it in the future.

Oh, yesterday I watched the show Inception which starred Leonardo Di Caprio, Joseph Gordon-Levitt and Emma Page. I have nothing but praises for the actors and the show in overall. It's definitely thought provoking although the whole explaining what's going on in our dreams was quite a bore coz basically Im not a technical person or rather Im more used to those movies with easy to understand storylines..haha.

So our dreams have many layers and hence the concept, dream within a dream. It wasn't a sleeper movie..heh..geddit...coz there was action going on in the form of the various people's subconscious which translated into projections that would began attacking because they sensed a foreigner. It was just like how someone tried to enter your private space and you get pretty defensive. And my friends joked that my subconscious is probably made up of many little minions that probably irritate the foreigner more than being attacked..haha.

The visuals were amazingly stunning and my favourite parts were the gravity defying fight scenes and also the van that took FOREVER to fall into the water to wake the people up. We were like..'still falling?!!' But it's a movie, what do you expect?

I didn't expect to catch the movie yesterday despite the hints coz Im pretty slow when it comes to hints. So my friend planned out this surprise when we met up yesterday. Well, despite spending $10 on the ticket (don't look at me, Im an established cheapo), I can safely say it's..er..money well spent?

Anyway, here's the movie poster for Inception

Birthday Gathering & House Hunting

Last week, I celebrated a friend of mine's belated birthday together with another friend at her condo. Sadly, this would be the last time we would hold the celebration at her place because she has finally managed to sell off her condo unit after one year of looking for a buyer. Mostly we used the swimming pool facilities although the two of us didn't swim at all but just chill under the shade. We brought home cooked food and I really appreciated my friend for doing this for us, thinking about how the young son of a friend of us would love the swimming pool for kids. She is so selfless and kind to her friends and I'm truly blessed to have her in my life.  While one was selling off the house, the other friend was on the verge of getting a dream house for herself and her young son. In life, we have many priorities and things to look forward to. Each of our dreams and aspirations are different from one another, like for me, getting a house is not a priority at the moment.  ...

A Reminder to the Living

Recently, we lost our former President when he passed away at the age of 92. He was known to have his heart for the people although those who worked closely with him couldn't actually picture him as that for he was a taskmaster when it came to work. He did his own narratives and do the best that he could as he knew where he came from and wanted to make good out of his life.  He showed that the circumstances that we are in can't stop us from going far in life. We should continue to focus on our actions, has strong dedication and when things get difficult, look at the bigger picture and understand why we are here. Ultimately, we should all be working towards the purpose we have in mind which makes things easier to cope. Thank you for helping the Singaporeans especially those who needed help most. You would always be the people's President. On the other spectrum, a young child had also lost his life. A few of my colleagues witnessed the events which unfolded in front of...

Our First Group Meeting After Graduation

It has been a long time coming since the last time we met was on Graduation Day although I did meet up with 3 of them quite recently for a birthday celebration. I somehow never seem to miss out on any of the gatherings including the time when we went to a coffee shop after our stressful Econs exam papers. Still don't know how we survived that miraculously..haha.. Anyway, I've always been a silent supporter to this friendly bunch of people who always make me feel inclusive knowing that I am a lady of few words, haha.  We went to this restaurant called PU3 and although the service staff should really write down orders so that we don't always have to remind them that two of our drinks had not arrived get our orders wrong. I mean it's for their customers' benefit and also their own so that they don' undercharge their customers. Just saying. They serve Nasi Ambeng served in a big dulang or tray that is meant to be eaten by 2, 4 or 6 people which is m...
