Beauty is Subjective

Photo by  Lisa Fotios  from  Pexels I recently watched a youtube video by a local content creator and she was sharing how she normally spends her days, now that she is back in Singapore to visit her family. While each day is unique, she typically divides her time between spirituality, work, healthy and family and friends. Each one is pivotal in the running of her life and being productive. I think that is a great way in how you spend time and make the best use of it, rather than just wasting time on social media which uh..most of us are guilty of. Me especially, lol. Anyway, what caught my interest to write this blog post was a shopping trip she had with her sisters. One of her younger sisters liked this blouse with banana prints on it, which in her opinion, was pretty questionable, prompting her to ask if she thought that looked nice. Her sister confidently said 'Beauty is subjective'.  Well, she is right. I honestly never thought of phrasing it that way th...

The Psychology of Being Poor

I recently watched this documentary on CNA Insider and then found out later that it was actually from a few years ago. But still, it gave the viewers a glimpse into the lives of those people living in rental flats, their struggles in life and how they were coping on government's welfare and social services rendered to them. Although this was a throwback series, the reality still remains that such groups of people do exist and by knowing more about their situations, we open up our minds and be more grateful that some problems we have in life, are not as big as compared to theirs. Surprisingly, most of the comments weren't so nice by putting the blame on them that they brought this situation upon themselves. Honestly, I was also surprised why they had so many children, or keep adding to the brood, when they were already struggling to feed the children already. Imagine, having 7 children, on a $800 pay check and the fact that if he didn't work, he won't receive inco...

My Slight Obsession with K Pop Bands

The last few weeks, I have been so caught up with two popular Korean bands, whether on youtube or on Spotify, because one day I decided out of boredom to learn the names of all the members of BTS when they released their latest single. My exposure to K pop music stemmed from my fitness classes, K Pop X and K Kardio. Their music is very catchy and are great to dance or work out to and you truly get to enjoy yourself even you're deadbeat tired trying to make those moves. So there were a lot of fan made videos of the band's appearances on variety programmes that showed the silliness of the members and behind the scenes video footages where you get to know their personalities better. Speaking of performances, you can't hep but be captivated by their high energy singing and choreography done in synchronisation without missing a beat. It's not easy and requires many hours of training but they get better and better with each performance. They are also multi talented performe...

My Experience at the Jewel During the Preview

So, like maybe half of Singapore's population, I went to Jewel, the new hyped Mega Shopping Mall located in the vicinity of the Changi Airport terminals, during the preview. My friend got the tickets and had an extra pair so she had asked me since I am often free, even when I had to work, lol. Anyway, I took leave that day, without telling my mum because I know she will freak out as it not a very good reason to be off from work. The first attraction we saw was the tallest indoor waterfall and it looked like this very big vortex in the middle of the ocean. Naturally, people were crowding around the place to take pics. I did too =))) But it was impossible to take a picture without people in the background. Then as we walked, there were many Japanese inspired design such as this mini trail where you could take a instagram pic in the middle of it, and tricking people into thinking you're in Japan. Even the shops were Japanese inspired. One of the stores, Tokyo Hands, from yes....

Dancing Lights

Most of us get excited over birthdays because of the wishes and the celebrations. At times we naively think we have not changed much but when we looked back on past photos, oh boy...that was when reality sinks in. That's why I am not quite a fan of Facebook memories, haha..just kidding. Well, we can't stop aging though there are those who age gracefully as though they're turning back time or looking even better than in their younger days. Time does not wait for anyone, it just keeps moving, whether we like it or not. We could be naive back then but wiser now, though this is not so applicable for all. I used to be very self conscious of myself (ok I still do but I take a chill pill now) where I often feel I don't belong with my twenties group of friends or colleagues. I never took care of my diet, exercise seemed like a luxury activity, and when people that I loved started to fall ill, my responsibility towards my family got heavier and my whole world changed.  ...

Being the Boss of Your Life

photo credit: pixels Honestly, I admire those women, young, older or within my age group, who seemed to have it together. They lead busy lifestyles, run their own business(es), are great bosses and still have time for play or do voluntary work. When I lay on my bed doing nothing, I feel a little bad. Or when I am facing some hiccups at work or running my online shop, I get into a daze mode like I feel I can't get anything done, especially when I am feeling overwhelmed. I felt bad not updating this blog for a long time and I honestly have things to write about but I just can't get myself to sit down and do so. Yes I was sick last month for quite a long period, yet still life goes on, you know. So now I am back and trying to get my life together again after watching two videos, unplanned, on youtube. One was about being the boss of your life and another one was about overcoming undesirable circumstances by truly believing you are so much more than that. It's true, w...

March is a Month of Me Being Sick

I am back!!! I don't believe I had not been writing for the whole of March. I wasn't at my best. I was sick TWO times, and the first time, I actually had to leave work half way in the morning, CRYING. It was some embarrassing sh*t because I normally cry at home but not in front of freaking people. But the stomach ache got me so bad, I just wanted to go home and then sleep, because I was barely able to walk and sit. Every movement seemed force because I had to tell myself, to take one step at a time.  Honestly, this happened before, not at this workplace, but my previous workplace. At one time, it happened right before I went to work in the morning, my tummy ache felt so bad and it was not as if I ate something that gave me that really bad tightness around my tummy. It just happened like that, when I woke up, or the pain jolted me out of my sleep. Then, I was getting ready for work but I could barely stand up after getting out of the shower, and was lying down on the bed, stil...
